UNIG TIMBER – this is the production of wood products of European quality level and on modern equipment with efficient technology for both the domestic market of Nigeria and for export.
The current technology in Nigeria is irrationally using forest resources and is unable to produce a quality product that meets the standards. And the dominance of imported wood-fiber and wood-fiber boards, low-quality MDF kills the woodworking industry in Nigeria and prevents it from developing.

UNIG Timber solves these problems by means of high-performance equipment, which makes it possible to cut wood with a high percentage of finished products.

The first direction – is high-speed belt saws capable of producing a thin tree sawing with minimal waste. In this case, the surface of the products – boards, beams or slats – is clean and smooth. And does not require further grinding or processing, but is usable. Quality roundwood cutting is the basis for further efficient production of wood products.

The second direction – drying of wood. Most of the lumber produced in Nigeria is unsuitable for further production of furniture or other products because the raw tree does not provide an opportunity to produce high-quality products. After the production of furniture from a raw tree, it loses its properties due to shrinkage or cracking or torsion. And then the same doors become more like a propeller and can not be closed .

The only way out here is to dry the wood to an optimum moisture content of 10%. And only then it is possible to produce high-quality products. Including furniture. However, in Nigeria this is practically nonexistent. And the point here is not that there is no equipment or problems with electricity. The problem is that there is no competition and no choice.
That is why the availability of effective dryers for wood opens up woodworking and the production of quality furniture and other products – great prospects.
And according to the experts of the company UNIG Timber there are two highly effective technological options for drying the tree.
The first of these is the creation of drying chambers with the help of solar heat, when air is heated in special air collectors from the sun, which in turn provides the process of drying the tree.
The second option is the production of fuel briquettes by pressing chips, sawdust and wood waste. And further drying of the tree is possible already in conventional convection dryers of the classical type, where hot air is formed by burning these very fuel briquettes. Someone believes that it is possible and so to burn wood waste and not to waste time on the production of briquettes. But it is not so. Because the specific heat of combustion of fuel briquettes is much higher than pellets or wood waste.
The third direction of development of wood processing from the company UNIG Timber is to increase the depth of processing and output of finished products – daughters, beams and slats. With a standard approach, the output of sawn timber from roundwood is about 50%.
The rest is croaker, dust, wood waste…
However, using the technology of wood splicing with the use of glue presses – Vaim, not only increases the yield of finished products to 70-75%, but also makes such products more durable and qualitative when used in further processing.
Firstly – the glued beam or board is much stronger than the solid one.
Secondly. Such products are more durable in use and allow to produce finished products of non-standard dimensions and types, including spring slats, the demand for which is traditionally high.
And only after the realization of these three stages of wood processing will it become possible to produce high-quality products, including furniture and other products with a high processing depth, meeting all standards and quality requirements. This and plywood of all types, including waterproof, veneer – both for furniture production and for the production of plywood. Lamels, furniture planks and other products.
